Matthew Henry Phineas Riall Sankey

Matthew Henry Phineas Riall Sankey CB, CBE was an Irish engineer from County Tipperary who created the Sankey diagram. He served as a captain of the British Army in the Royal Engineers until leaving to become an engineer. He returned to serve as a staff officer during World War I which earned him a CBE.

He was also President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.[1]
